Singer Jessica Simpson is set to get hitched to her NFL pro boyfriend, Eric Johnson, sources confirmed today with Us magazine. The couple became engaged on Thursday, only days after the magazine broke the news that her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo.

Reports stated that the singer showed off a large ring on her left hand during her appearance at Dillard’s at Oak Park Mall in Kansas City on Saturday. The couple began dating in May while he was still estranged from his first wife, Keri Johnson. Five months later the divorce was finalized. She told the press recently that her and Johnson were best friends and that she loves him. Simpson’s brother-in law, Pete Wentz, told People Magazine: “He’s a really smart guy, and Jessica really loves him. I think that’s the most important thing, seeing her happy.”

So wedding bells will be ringing for the actress and singer, aged 30, and very coincidental that it should happen days after her ex gets engaged...
